On Friday I had the pleasure of traveling to Toronto, Ohio to meet this sweet little girl Nina and equally as sweet big sister Gianna. Nina was only 8 days old which is a perfect age for a newborn session. Newborn sessions should really take place within the first 4-10 days of life, when the baby is still very sleepy and can be posed “easier”. Both Nina and Gianna were perfect models for me and I was thrilled.

Toronto Ohio is such a cute little town, before Nicole (their mom) contacted me last week I didn’t even know it existed and now I’m in LOVE. If there was a Target close by I think I might even consider moving.  Toronto is located on the Ohio/West Virginia border and right on the Ohio River.  It’s very scenic and the downtown is just adorable. There was a rumor about some great pizza there, so before heading back I got a couple slices, the rumor was correct.  Then as I passed an ice cream stand, I couldn’t resist. Unfortunately I didn’t see the Cow Tippin’ ice cream flavor until after I already ordered my soft serve. Next time I’m getting Cow Tippin’, it’s vanilla with caramel and chocolate cows . . . sounded delish! Anywho, here are these two sweet cuties . . .

Caedance was born March 12th at 33 weeks and weighing only 4 lbs. 1 oz., but you would never know it today.  She is almost 6 lbs., healthy, happy and absolutely adorable.  She has the sweetest parents and a big sister to boot.  This session took place last Saturday the day before Easter so it was a perfect time to pull out my bunny hat that I’ve been saving for just this occasion.  Make sure to watch the slideshow at the end.

Wacky Wednesdays – Part 2

It’s official, I’m a groupie!

Last Tuesday, Jasmine Star came to Akron as part of the Akron Photo Series.  I talked about Jasmine before when I ran into her in Vegas at WPPI and acted like a goofy kid meeting a rock star.  Well, this wasn’t much different than the last meeting.  And to top off the goofiness, this time around I made her something.  Remember the last Wacky Wednesday post about  me knitting and “a secret project”?  Well, the secret is out, I knitted Jasmine a dog sweater . . .  for her super duper sweet pup Polo!  I embroidered her logo on the back and added a little bow tie on the front.  Sorry for the sad pics, I couldn’t round up a small furry model in time ;o)  I almost stuffed my fat cat into it but figured it would be way too tramatic for him – lol.

So here’s the breakdown:

I’m walking into the conference room at the Hilton in Fairlawn, butterflies in my stomach, hands sweating, and heart pounding.  There’s Jasmine Star.  She is doing her usual greeting of the crowd.  I freeze.  Polo’s sweater is packaged in a gift bag resting safely in my purse.  A fleeting thought goes through my head – “What the heck do I do now?”  Too late.  Suddenly I find myself standing in front of her rambling about something random, I’m sure, then fumbling into my purse I pull out the gift bag. She gives me a hug and thanks me and I finally take a breath.  Done!

My fear almost got a better hold of me and I almost didn’t give her the gift, but I did.  And I’m glad!  I’m not even lying!!

A couple days later I got this email from Jasmine, reinforcing that she really is awesome:  “i can’t thank you ENOUGH for the nicest, sweetest, best, most amazing gift ever. i can’t wait to take a photo of polo in it. he’s gonna look SO handsome!!! :D
xoxo”

I was over the moon!

I would like to thank Jasmine for coming to Akron and sharing with us her knowledge, her enthusiasm, and her love of marketing and photography.   But most of all I’d like to thank her for donating 25% of the proceeds to Akron Children’s Hospital.  You’re a Star, Jasmine Star!

I am motivated, I am inspired . . .  inspired to be me and to write my own story!
