As you might have figured out by now, I have curly hair.  I know I know, you girls with straight hair would love my hair.  Yes I get it, but really you wouldn’t want any part of it.  It’s annoying, it never looks the same twice, you can’t wash it everyday and life has to be scheduled around it.  For example, I can’t just wash my hair in the morning go for a run in the afternoon and wash it again to go out at night.  No, I would have to run first thing then wash and pray that it still look good to go out at night.  Also, all any curly hair girl wants is to have straight hair.  Although possible, as long as the weather permits, it has to be planned out as well.  If I straighten my hair I have to make sure I will not sweat for at least 3-4 days, cause I definitely don’t want to wash it after all the time it takes to get it straight.  That being said, curly hair does have it’s benefits even though it never looks the same twice, with the right cut it can be a wash and go type of hair.  Currently my curly hair system consists of DevaCare Arc AnGEL (thank you Aunt Deb) or Strictly Curls Curl Envy by Marc Anthony (not the singer some other dude), and Aussie Instant Freeze.  Both the Arc Angel and Curl Envy produce very similar results.  Actually I can’t decide which product I like more. They both are not tested on animals, alcohol free, paraben free and Arc AnGEL is Sulfate free.  And they both smell great!

The way I use these products is simple.  Once the hair has been washed, conditioned and brushed (while still in the shower), I leave it almost dripping wet.  Then apply a generous portion of either product, spray a little Instant Freeze on it for good measure, and use a diffuser for a couple minutes.  Then I just let it air dry and try not to touch it.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it’s a frizzy hot mess.

I would love to hear from you if you have any secrets or products you’d like to share with me.  I’m always searching to try something different.

In closing, you always want what you can’t have, I say suck it up and deal with it!  Happy Friday everyone, what’s left of it anyway!!

Friday’s Favs – Vin Diesel

April 29th, 2011

I have been sharing a lot of random things about myself with you lately (whoever you are?).  Today I’m going to share something that might be a shock to some and not at all to others.  I LOVE Vin Diesel.  Ever since the first Fast and Furious, it’s been an obsession.  It’s the bold head, [...]

I have been sharing a lot of random things about myself with you lately (whoever you are?).  Today I’m going to share something that might be a shock to some and not at all to others.  I LOVE Vin Diesel.  Ever since the first Fast and Furious, it’s been an obsession.  It’s the bold head, the voice, and the muscles . . . you get the idea.  And the name, goodness is that not the best bad boy name ever?  But really movies about racing and fast cars bring back memories of my childhood, my dad raced cars in Poland when I was little and I spent many weekends going to dealerships and looking at cars in my teens. Ok so now you know too much about me, I’m Vin Diesel crazy and I like fast cars.  The latest Fast and Furious sequel is in theaters today “Fast Five”, so I felt it was appropriate to write about this little fact today.  Don’t judge me people, I’m only human!!!

Lots of stuff going on this weekend (aka the Mom & Pop Shoppe tomorrow), but I’ll be sure to get to the theater sometime in the next couple days even if I have to go alone.  Happy Fast Five Friday, All!

Of course no post is complete without an image, so here’s my Vin Collection:
