Last month I got to work with one of my fav’s, Arielle Doneson Photography and oh my gosh was it amazing!  We started the day at St. Barbara Church in Massillon then headed off to the bride’s family farm for some fun shots.  Lana’s family, among other things, grows soy beans.  I actually learned something that day!  [...]

I learned that soy beans are grown in Ohio and then sent to Japan where they become Edamame and then come back to the US.  Pretty crazy stuff but I do love me some Edamame!!!  It was so fun shooting some images in the field of soy beans!

The reception was at the lovely Executive Event Center in Canton.  During the reception both the bride and groom’s fathers cried during their speaches as did the best man and maid of honor.  It was such a special part of the day.  But the best part of the night had to have been when Lana’s grandfather auctioned off the first piece of cake.  It was a “real” auction, I think it ended up going for about $1800 not bad for a piece of half eaten cake . . . huh?

Some of my favorites from the day, enjoy!

Megan & John had a lovely ceremony in a lovely little church in Amherst.  Then we headed out for some fun shots, first with the fire truck (since John is a Fire Fighter), and second at the beach in Lorain.  Followed my a reception in Avon.  Everything went off without a hitch and it was my honor to be a part of such a special day with them.  Did I mention that they are pretty COOL, well they are!!

I know, I know . . . I’m totally slacking on the friday’s favs posts lately.  I promise there will be one next week. But for today we have Tony & Jackie.

I had the great pleasure working with Red Bird Photography at this wedding a couple weeks ago!  A lot of times when second shooting for someone, one never knows what they are walking into, but oh boy was I happy when I saw this couple and their bridal party!  Yes they were ALL gorgeous!!!  and super fun!

Tony & Jackie had their ceremony and reception at Roses Run Country Club in Stow.  It was one of those hot and sunny summer days we’ve been having lately.  Everyone was so nice and so cooperative that we didn’t even notice the heat . . .  well maybe just a bit.

When I first got there the groom was writing a love note to his bride and it was so special to capture that moment as well as the moment when his lovely bride read the note (definitely best part of the day).  Enjoy!

The groom’s face when he saw his gorgeous bride was priceless!!!!

This last shot is my fav, they are stunning!

This was a little different and not something I normally do but sometimes when a friend is in need you just have to step up and help out.  My friend and fellow photographer Valerie was having twins the week that she was to shoot this wedding.  Since I was available I stepped in and shot it for her.

Melissa and Jeff were so understanding and, lets just say, AWESOME!  Not to mention such cuties, that it was my absolute pleasure. Melissa has the best smile and the most adorable dimples and Jeff is a total stud.  It was great that we had allotted extra time before the ceremony for the first look (always a favorite), and the portraits of just the two of them.  It allowed them to mingle with their guests and enjoy the reception much quicker.  Oh did I mention that they got married at the O’Neil House, the BEST Akron Wedding Venue for an intimate event. It was perfect!

Flowers by Every Blooming Thing and special thanks to Sarah for second shooting for me!

Totally love the fact that those are my initials :) Enjoy!

First look is so special and intimate, I just adore it!

What a wedding, what a day!  This wedding had everything!!!! It had an awesome vintage feel with an old car, it had an amazing wedding party, the best reception location, lovely guests, but most of all the most adorable and sweetest couple you ever did see and so in love (but that is pretty apparent in the photos).

So much work and planning went into pulling this wedding off with most of it done by Matt & Kitty.  All the planning was done long distance, as Matt & Kitty currently live in Chicago.  They spent many weekends driving to Ohio to make all the arrangement and it definitely showed.  They even consulted the farmer’s almanac to ensure the perfect weather for their day.  And guess what, the almanac was right, it was the most gorgeous day!  A little on the hot side but we tried to stay in the shade as much as possible, all in all went as planned. And just to tell you a little more about how sweet they are they made chocolates in the shapes of Ohio, Illinois, and a heart for favors! Oh and I almost forgot the groomsmen got fishing poles for their gifts, now that’s creative people.

We started this great day at a lovely Catholic Church in Solon followed by a  reception at  Conrad Botzum Farmstead in Akron.  What a captivating place for a vintage type wedding the farm was, pure perfection!  It’s always so great to be a part of a such a special day and this wedding really took the cake!  From the first look, to the portraits, to the speeches delivered by the groom’s brother and bride’s sister, to the father’s toast, and of course cake, dancing and a bonfire.  Flawlessness!

Catering by Totally Cooked.  Cake by The Bake Shop in Ghent.  Flowers by Z Studio.  DJ was Brandon Brooks from Brooks Music of Akron.

Super special thanks go to Nong Cavender Photography for coming all the way from Chicago to help out with this wedding!!

and as always the first look is such a special part of the day – love, love, love!  Matt said Kitty was “perfect”, we all concurred!  Nong cried!
