I sure hope you are ready for some serious cuteness overload, cause these guys are just that!!!  Last weekend I got to go visit Baci’s Breeder and my friend Marc.  Marc runs Stimson Inn Kennel, breeds Labrador Retrievers and just had a litter that is only 3 weeks old.  There were 8 puppies, in all three colors, the timing was perfect!!!  and the puppies even perfecter!!! is that a word?

Anywho, Marc’s Labs are just the sweetest and this is from first hand experience of course.  Our dog Baci came from Marc’s line almost 10 years ago, sniff sniff.  Just about all the pups pictured here are somehow related to my sweet boy.  And when I say sweet, I mean awesome, fantastic and the most precious angel.  And the proof is here, here, and here. Ok that’s enough!

I wish there was a way to show in a photograph how these little guys smell.  You’ll have to trust me on this when I tell you they smell like “HEAVEN”!  and are so fluffy and soft and of course sweet.  Marc will have 3 more litters in the next couple months, if you would like one just contact him at Stimson Inn Kennel.  Marc has 10 of his own Labs as well and a couple visitors that were just staying in the kennel for the weekend.  It was a full house and a great time had by all.

Enjoy and please talk me out of getting one of these pups, I already made plans to go see them again  . . .  oh gheez I’m in trouble.

I think a lot of times most people assume that the images on my blog come directly out of my camera, well that is not the case.  Every image posted on here has gone through an editing process.  Although it is extremely important to get everything right in the camera first (like FOCUS, exposure, shutter speed, aperture and white balance), there are adjustments that can be made later whether for artistic purposes or otherwise.  Quality post processing is very important and is what makes a professional stand out from the rest.  It also allows for developing a specific style.  I’m going to show two images that I’ve edited.  First is my dog Baci, doing what he loves most.  Second is of my husband acting goofy, and yes that is a fork that he’s trying to put up his nose.  Let me know what you think?

The first image is SOOC (straight out of camera), no adjustments have been made. The image is under exposed and blah.  My settings were 200 iso, 500 shutter speed, and 2.8 aperture.  Of course Baci looks adorable anyway!

This is the image once it’s been color corrected and cropped for better composition.

And this is the finished image that has gone through my editing process.  Even thought I loved the long drool line under his chin I decided to get rid of it in the final image.  I also sharpened, vignetted and adjusted the colors accordingly.  I LOVE it!

Second example, SOOC.  The image is a little under exposed and pretty scary.  My setting were 640 iso, 100 shutter speed, and 2.8 aperture, kitchen window directly behind me.

Second . . . is color corrected!

Third . . . although I can’t edit out the scary part, this image has gone through my special editing process.  Small blemished have been removed, eyes have been sharpened, skin smoothed and colors have been boosted.  Imagine waking up to that everyday – kidding!!

It’s time for a Wacky Wednesday post and the timing couldn’t be more perfect!

Last week, just for fun I checked ticketmaster to see if there were any decent seats for the Jovi concert in Columbus for last night.  Well . . . to my surprise I was able to get tickets behind the stage, woohoo, without thinking I purchased them.

Probably should start at the beginning though.  Back in 1986, at the age of 12, I moved to this country and lived in New Jersey and didn’t speak a word of English (ok I knew “window” but that was it), I discovered MTV!  MTV actually played videos back in the 80′s, some of you might not remember this time but it was a GLORIOUS time – minus the big hair and awful clothes.  Every night I would watch MTV and the top 10 countdown, Bangles were number one with “Walk like an Egyptian”, it was my jam!!  Then one night, they weren’t number one anymore and it was Bon Jovi with “Livin on a Prayer”.  What?  how dare they?? I like the Bangles.  Well it didn’t take long for me to realize that NO I actually LOVE Bon Jovi.  Always did, always will!! I still remember that 80′s pink poster on the back of my door . . . ahh memories.

Fast forward to last night.  My BBF Fiovi and I, made the 2 hour trip down to Columbus.  We got there right on time, grabbed Donatos Pizza and a $5.25 Pepsi, and headed to our seats.  As we walked down to our seats we were shocked how good they actually were? behind left of stage with no one in front of us blocking our view.  Perfect view of Tico’s set up, btw (I kind of LOVE Tico too).  How did this happen? I’ve seen Jovi quite a few times but these were the best seats I’ve ever had . . . we were on cloud nine!!!  The only bummer at the time was that neither of us had cell reception and Richie’s in Rehab.  We had so many great status updates to share but no such luck.    So the concert started and we were screaming and dancing like a couple 12 year old girls, at one point Jon came up on this platform right behind the stage and we ran to be right in front of him, he blew us a kiss, we were only about 8 feet from him with no obstructions it was bananas!!!!! HE WAS RIGHT THERE! Of course I was too shocked to actually snap a picture (what’s wrong with me, I’m a professional).  He ended the show with “Livin on a Prayer” . . . it was perfection.  On the way out, we contemplated running away from home and heading to the next show (didn’t even know where that would be since both of our phones died during the show), it was a beautiful dream but we came to our senses, and I decided to get a $45 concert tee instead (against my better judgment)! The deciding factor was that it said “Est. 1983, New Jersey”.  I was high on life I guess, Fiovi even tried talking me out of it and suggested that I could pick one up on Ebay.  What?? that’s crazy talk!!!

After the show, to avoid the crowds, we walked down to a dueling piano bar where we listened to a little more Jovi and “Rocket Man”.  The place was called The Big Bang Bar, and all the employees wore shirts that said “Bang This”, it was hilarious . . . well at least we thought it was hilarious.  At this point, all we wanted was a Pepsi since we still had to make the 2 hour trip home, but some woman managed to spill an entire beer on me.  Um yeah, I’m sure my husband would believe that really happened?  Kind of reminds me of the time I came home with one shoe (but I digress), he didn’t believe that story either.  Goodness, how do I get myself in these situations?  On that note we decided against the Pepsi and got as far from this woman as possible.  As we left the bar, after some of the beer had evaporated, a Rickshaw went past us (although I called it a Ricochet, and didn’t realize I was wrong until this morning, hahaha).  I think we had a sign that said “stop”, cause he did and we went for a little ride.  It was the most romantic and perfect end to a perfect night!  Although the driver almost tried to kill us.

I will never be able to see Jovi with anyone other than my friend Fiovi.  I want to remember this night forever!!  Fiovi, thanks for the memories, you’re the BEST!

click here to see a little video I took, sorry it takes a minute or so to load

our view

this is right after he blew us a kiss!!  this isn’t even my pic, like i said i was too nervous and the girl that was next to me was kind enough to text me hers – lol.  8 ft. away people, if that!

i did manage to eventually film a little of it here, sorry about the screaming!

Last weekend I had the great pleasure to be one of the vendors at a local art and craft show, Crafty Mart . . . a first for me. First time being a vendor that is, I’ve photographed the event since it’s inception in 2009 but never participated as a vendor before. Crafty Mart takes place at Musica twice a year and it is a great time for local vendors to come out and sell their handmade goodies.  This year’s theme was “The Mom & Pop Shoppe” in honor of the upcoming Mother’s and Father’s Day.  There were tons of great presents there for both occasions.  From t-shirts, soaps, glass, jewelry, embroidered cards, jewelry made out of forks, guitar birdhouses and even organic dog and cat treats just to name a few. In addition, there were fresh cut flowers, sweet treats, food from Urban Eats (delish, btw), and even a Bloody Mary bar there. What’s better than a little liquir to help you shop??  Nothing, there is nothing better, people.

I was selling my hats, pins and headbands which can also be found at my etsy store.
Here are a few shots from this great event, if you’ve never been definitely check it out in the fall . . . it’s a great time!
