Why, Social Media as well as Pinterest are the greatest?  A couple days ago I found this most amazingly delicious looking photo with the most delicious sounding recipe for red velvet crapes on Pinterest!  I couldn’t help myself, so I pined it to my “food” board (which honestly should just be called “chocolate obsession”).  Anywho, [...]

Anywho, that wasn’t quite enough I also tweeted it and liked it to my facebook page.  You want to know what happened next right?  I thought so.  I had every intention and still will make these myself!  My favorite breakfast place owner is a facebook friend.  Guess what peeps? I will be enjoying these tomorrow morning at Flury’s and I didn’t even have to leave my desk to make it happen. And I didn’t even make it happen on purpose.  I LOVE you PINTEREST, FACEBOOK, TWITTER!!! and I LOVE you Kim White!!!

Follow all my boards here and this delish recipe can be found here.  Happy belated Valentine’s Day my loves!

Fridays Favs – New Sample Album

February 10th, 2012

I’m so excited to share my new wedding sample album!  It’s glorious – the pictures don’t even do it justice!  There are even 30 different gorgeous  leathers or faux leathers to choose from for the cover.  It comes in a black box for storage. The name stamping on the spine is absolutely my favorite, but [...]

I’m so excited to share my new wedding sample album!  It’s glorious – the pictures don’t even do it justice!  There are even 30 different gorgeous  leathers or faux leathers to choose from for the cover.  It comes in a black box for storage. The name stamping on the spine is absolutely my favorite, but it can also go on the front and even include the wedding date.  And, of course, I love the picture on the cover.  An amazing book!!!  Really looking forward to ordering quite a few of these this year!

If you missed Matt & Kitty’s wedding last year, can check it out here!  Have a great weekend everyone!

Fridays Favs – Bayside Pullover

February 3rd, 2012

More knitting . . . what can I say I caught a bug lately.  A couple weeks ago I posted about a new sweater I just finished.  Today is the next one.  The Bayside Pullover was so much fun to knit, I used every inch of the yarn and the sleeve are almost full length.  [...]

More knitting . . . what can I say I caught a bug lately.  A couple weeks ago I posted about a new sweater I just finished.  Today is the next one.  The Bayside Pullover was so much fun to knit, I used every inch of the yarn and the sleeve are almost full length.  For this sweater I decided to use a sport weight yarn in a crazy yellow shade called “buttery”.  My favorite color to knit has always been any shade in the blue family, so knitting yellow was quite a stretch.  The next sweater I have on my needles in a “latte”, color again a stretch but very versicle for the wardrobe.

While having the mini session with my friend Arielle, she snapped a couple photos of my new creation, loving those cables.  Thank you Ari!  photos courtesy Arielle Doneson Photography!

Do you like pretty things, are inspired by pictures, do you buy wine based on the label, do you enjoy a little Shoe Porn, or perhaps love to cook or decorate?  Pinterest.com is for you!!!  You’ve probably heard something about it before.  One of your girlfriends has mentioned it I’m sure, but you haven’t made [...]

Do you like pretty things, are inspired by pictures, do you buy wine based on the label, do you enjoy a little Shoe Porn, or perhaps love to cook or decorate?  Pinterest.com is for you!!!  You’ve probably heard something about it before.  One of your girlfriends has mentioned it I’m sure, but you haven’t made the leap yet.  Well, today is the day!  Do it, join the Pinerest Community.  It’s the best social media website out there (YES better than Facebook), and you need to be a part of it.

If you are a bride, a mother, a teacher, a wife, a sister, a designer, a photographer, a WOMAN or a man you need to be on Pinterest.com!  It’s that simple!!!  It is basically a Virtual Pinboard.  Anything you find online you can pin to different boards that you create.  You can follow other people’s boards to see what they are pinning. You can search the pinterest site for already pinned images.  It’s be best eye candy out there, and the best part is that most pins take you right to the source, to that recipe of some delish desert, or the store where you can purchase that perfect pair of shoes, etc. etc.  Not to mention everything you LOVE is in one spot, genius!!! If you are a photographer than this is more than a must.  It’s one stop shop for any/all inspiration.  But I do have to warn you it is super addictive, you blink and hours have passed but you’ve seen so many gorgeous things and got so inspired so it’s not a total time killer.

Here’s something I discovered today, to see what images are pinned from your own site, or any site you might be interested in, type in “http://www.pinterest.com/source/(insert domain name here)”.  To see what images have been pinned from my site, I go to http://pinterest.com/source/janickiphotography.com.  Kinda fun to see who is pinning what!

If you would like to follow my boards you can find me here!  Start your pinning peeps!

Just a little pinterest eye candy I’ve been talking about!

So some of you might know that I like love to knit!!  I love the act of knitting it’s calming and relaxing, but also the end result.  And it might be more relaxing than yoga . . . well maybe not quite but pretty close. I learned to knit and crochet when I was just a little girl in Poland.  Trust me I’ve come a long way, maybe one day I’ll share the first sweater I ever knitted.  But for now lets get back to the current project.  I go through spurts where I’m knitting all the time and then life gets busy and I take a break.  It’s been quite a long break, I’d say almost an entire year.  A couple months ago I photographed one of my knitting friends, Andrea and she had just finished this amazing sweater.  I knew right away that it was going to be the project that was going to get me back into obsessive knitting in no time.  So I grabbed my needles and yarn and off I went.  Two 2 short weeks later, I was finished even after having to re-knit one of the sleeves.  It was quite a fast and easy knit and I love the result!

The “Rocky Coast Cardigan” comes from Coastal Knits which has many more amazing patterns and I’ve already cast on for sweater number two the “Bayside Pullover” from the same book.
