I’ve always considered myself a Maxxionista, but recently I’ve decided to just be a Thriftionista.   The best things can be found at the Thrift Store.  From props for photoshoots, to clothes for myself or my clients, to housewares and accessories.  It is all there just waiting to be found.  And of course the thrill of the hunt is my favorite thing.  I’ve talked about thrifting before, here and here and feel the need to still talk about it.  It might be the store that I frequent, time of the year, economy, etc. regardless, there are unbelievable finds out there right now.

I have a thrifting buddy, Kalyn.  We have a standing date every other Thursday at the Village Thrift.  I must confess sometimes I go without her although never quite find as good of stuff alone.  After out last trip “we” decided for Kalyn to model some of the great finds we have recently found.  BTW, the girl is 4 months preggers and looks amazing!!! don’t you agree?

If you are a client or a potential client and are interested in me dressing you up for your session just ask.  I love doing it, sometimes even when I’m not asked, cause I’m crazy like that!

First up:
H&M Dress – $6, no name sweater – $3, Talbots Navy Flats – $3 = $12 total

BCBG Top – $6.  Made her buy this little number and I love that color on her!

New Beginnings | San Antonio Family Photographer

Exactly one year ago in April I had the chance to photograph one of my oldest and definitely dearest friends, Chuck and his two fur babies back in Florida.  Now just a year later, also in April, I had the great pleasure of photographing his new family (which doubled in size, all in just 12 short months), in San Antonio.  Come October he will be saying his I DOs to this lovely lady Kelly.  I’m so very excited to be a part of their wedding day!

I got to travel out to San Antonio last weekend to do their engagement session as well as a family session as well as another session *wink* *wink*.  Lets start with the family and go from there.  And yes, I tried to dress one of their dogs . . . I just can’t help myself.  LOVE you all!!! xoxo

I miss my dog . . . I miss him tons, it’s no secret.  But it does make me happy to get to hang out with his family.  You might remember seeing photos of lab puppies on the blog last year, a couple times.  Luckily I’m friends with the owner of Stimson Inn Kennel, and get texts when lab puppies are born.  They are all in some way related to my Baci.  There is absolutely nothing sweeter than a little tiny puppy, especially a lab.  They smell like heaven, and when I look at these pictures I want to eat them.  Ok, that was weird . . . they are just too SWEET, I have a sweet tooth, haha.  These guys were just 4 weeks old when I got to smell and hold and take a few images of them last week.  While sitting on the ground holding the little black one, they all started to come up to me and all ended up in my lap.  Pretty stinkin’ cute!!! For a minute I was the “puppy whisperer” and eventually managed to lay them on top of each other and get them all zonked out for a photo opp.  They were in a pile, a pile of puppies.  Which is the greatest pile to be in.

The first image is the proud mama, Miss Pearl.  She is such a good mom but since the puppies got teeth, she’s a bit over it.  Those little teeth are sharp.

The black puppy, of course, reminds me of my sweet boy Baci.  He’s smiling at me in that third image . . . I can’t even take it, melts my heart.  They are ALL ADORBS.  Pet photography (dog photography) will always be my favorite hands down.  There is nothing better than a fur face looking at me behind my lens and then later all zoomed in on my monitor to edit, puts a smile on my face every time and takes all the stress of life away.  I know, I know, I need one but all in due time! xoxo

You might remember my friend Arielle, she’s modeled for me a few times.  Not only is she gorgeous, she is also an amazing photographer.  Recently she purchased a new camera  . . .  a FILM camera.  A Contax 645.  In order to get familiar with it, she asked another gorgeous friend of ours Amanda and her husband Ilario to be her test subjects.  I came along to photograph Ari with her FANCY new toy as well as Amanda and Ilario when she was changing out the rolls of film in her camera.  Check out Ari in action and watch the blog tomorrow for some shots of our oh so smoking models.
